Amethyst Calcite - Black Epitaxial Goethite

Impressive mega calcite on amethyst geode revealing purple tinted crystals, with beautiful central calcite coated in black goethite. The combination of black goethite arranged in straight lines over calcite is particularly rare and mainly found only in Uruguay. These mineral arrangements can be referred to as "skunks" by mineral collectors. Delicate purple-toned quartz overlaps on the calcite gracefully.
